Symphony Concert - World Premiere - an american Requiem

The Hattiesburg Choral Union, faculty and student soloists join the Symphony in the world premiere of Edwin Penhorwood's An American Requiem. Commissioned by the Southern Miss School of Music as a memorial for those affected by Hurricane Katrina, this exciting new piece sets traditional Latin texts, biblical passages and original poetry to music using a unique blend of folk songs, humn tunes and beautifully original melodies.
